How to Play Aviator — Step-by-Step Guide
Aviator is simpler than a classic slot: no paylines or symbols, just a rising multiplier and one button that decides the round's outcome. Here's the interface and mechanics broken down step by step (this covers the current 2.0 version; for what changed between versions, see "Aviator 2 and Aviator 3").
Step 1. Place your bet
Before each round starts, usually a ~5 second window, enter your bet amount at the bottom of the screen and press "Bet". Aviator supports dual betting: two independent bet slots with separate cash-out controls. You could, for example, cash one out early at x1.3–1.5 as a safety net while letting the other ride longer.
Step 2. Watch it climb
The plane takes off and the multiplier starts rising from 1.00x. The rate of growth is unpredictable, determined by the RNG engine at round start through Provably Fair (see our fairness page). No visual pattern lets you predict the crash point in advance.
Step 3. Cash out in time
Press "Cash Out" any time before the crash and you'll collect your stake times the multiplier at that moment. Miss the window, and the round ends with no payout, no matter how high the multiplier climbed afterward.
Example: walking through one round from start to cash out
| Moment | What happens |
|---|---|
| Before start | 200 USDT bet on one slot |
| 0.00–~1.5 sec | Multiplier climbs: 1.00x → 1.10x → 1.23x |
| ~1.5 sec | Player presses "Cash Out" at x1.23 |
| Player's result | Payout: 200 × 1.23 = 246 USDT (net profit 46 USDT) |
| Rest of the round | The multiplier may have kept climbing after this point, but that no longer affects the player, who already locked in their cash out at x1.23 |
Whatever multiplier the round eventually reached afterward isn't a "missed opportunity" in any strict sense. At the moment of pressing the button, the player had no way of knowing where the crash would happen, so cashing out at x1.23 was a fully rational decision given what was locked in.
Auto bet & auto cash out
To skip manually watching every round, you can enable a couple of settings. Auto Bet automatically places a bet of a set size each round. Auto Cash Out automatically cashes out once the multiplier hits a target, say x2.00.
Calling this a "winning strategy" would be a stretch. It's really a convenience and discipline tool: the rule fires the same way regardless of the player's emotions in the moment.
When luck doesn't go your way: a loss example
There's a flip side to the same mechanic. Miss the "Cash Out" window before the crash, and the stake is lost entirely, no matter what the multiplier was at the moment of the crash.
Common beginner mistakes
- Betting "by feel" without a session limit set in advance. It's easy to lose track of spending while watching the plane climb.
- Waiting for "your" high multiplier with no plan. If a cash-out target isn't locked in beforehand, say via Auto Cash Out, the in-the-moment decision is often impulsive.
- Raising your bet after a loss to win it back. That's an emotional reaction, not a calculation; more on this on our strategies page.
- Trying to find a pattern in round history. Rounds are independent of each other (see Provably Fair), so past multipliers have no effect on the next one.
- Jumping straight into real-money play without testing the demo first, when it's free to get familiar with the interface before money is on the line.
Other interface elements
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Live chat | Shows other players' bets and cash-outs in real time |
| Round history | A list of recent multipliers — useful for analysis, but doesn't predict the future |
| Top Wins | Largest wins of the day/month across all players at the table |
| Aviarace | Tournament leaderboard by winnings over a period, with operator-funded prizes |
Try it in the demo
The best way to get the hang of it is to open the Aviator demo and run a few test rounds on a virtual balance, no registration, no risk. Once you feel confident and want to move to real-money play, our selection criteria for choosing a platform are in "Where to Play".
FAQ
What happens if I don't cash out in time?
Your stake is lost entirely. It doesn't matter how high the multiplier climbed after you missed the window.
Can I cancel a bet after the round starts?
Once a round starts, the bet is locked in and can't be cancelled. You can only cash out.
Does auto cash out still work if I close the browser tab?
Usually not. Auto rules typically run client-side in a given operator's interface, so the tab generally needs to stay open (check with your specific operator).
Can I bet on both slots at once with different targets?
Yes, that's exactly what dual bet is for. Lock one bet in early at x1.5 as a safety net, for instance, while letting the other ride longer for a bigger multiplier.
What happens if my internet drops mid-round?
The bet is typically processed on the operator's server regardless of the player's connection. The exact behavior, whether auto cash out still fires, depends on the specific platform's settings, so check that operator's rules or support.
Do I have to bet on every round?
You can skip rounds and just watch without betting. It has no effect on future outcomes and can be a good way to get a feel for the pace before wagering real money.
